Rebel Wilson Looks Transformed After Her Impressive Weight Loss

A setback didn’t stop Rebel Wilson on her weight loss journey

As is the case with any challenge in life, setbacks are a normal part of progress. Rebel Wilson can attest to this, as she faced some bumps on her own road to weight loss. In January 2024, she hopped onto Instagram to explain that with all of the movies and the release of her new memoir, “Rebel Rising,” she had gained some weight. “Working really hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I’ve gained 14kg’s (30 pounds)! It makes me feel bad about myself…it shouldn’t…but it does,” she shared honestly. She asked her followers if anyone else struggled with hard feelings about losing momentum, and people were quick to share love and empathy. 

Later that year, Wilson spoke about a breakthrough she made in understanding her emotional eating. “People often out there think that there’s some magic pill, or some sick special diet, or exercise regime or whatever,” she told People. “It’s literally about working at a healthier way to deal with your emotions, and there is no magic solution,” Wilson said, adding that she hoped her memoir would help others see that therapy and mindfulness can help tackle emotional eating, and that weight loss isn’t about a quick fad. Her goal was to support and lift up those who struggled in the same ways that she did.
