Yellowstone’s Kylie Rogers makes an elegant impression on the red carpet
Pick any episode of “Yellowstone,” and you’ll probably spot Beth Dutton in plaid or ditsy patterns that suit the character to a tee. But while she played a younger version of Beth for several seasons, actor Kylie Rogers offers up a much more refined fashion sense at public appearances, serving streamlined silhouettes and restrained styling. For example, at a special screening of her film “Beau Is Afraid” in April 2023, Rogers pulled out all the stops with daring, fashion-forward separates in sharp white. The voluminous trousers were perfectly balanced by the fitted cut of Rogers’ midriff-baring top, which, in turn, combined long sleeves and pronounced shoulders with the alluring surprise of a single narrow band at the bust. The complete effect was alurring and elevated without seeming vulgar — a feat helped by its clean, monochromatic palette, which gave us plenty of inspiration for our own one-tone looks.
Showcasing a completely different aesthetic, Rogers took a more classic, feminine route at the film’s Los Angeles premiere that same month, walking the red carpet wearing a lace-overlay gown in a shade of butter yellow so soft that it was nearly cream. The dress’ gentle, sweetheart neckline and Rogers’ soft, Old-Hollywood waves gave the outfit a feeling of timeless glamor that needed no jewelry to complement it. By minimizing her accessories and skipping the extra focal point of a necklace, Rogers kept the ensemble fresh and redirected attention to her flawless hair and makeup.
Yellowstone’s Kylie Rogers also likes to play with vintage styles
Kylie Rogers can certainly pull off couture at both ends of the spectrum, from the eminently classic to the boundary-pushing. However, the young performer isn’t afraid to experiment with funkier throwback styles, either. For instance, Rogers popped by the IMDb portrait studio at Sundance 2023 in a Twiggy-worthy mod ensemble. The boxy blue skirt set featured a diamond pattern in classic denim shades and a touch of glitzy ornamentation along the collar, giving the ‘fit a special twist. Meanwhile, her styling stuck close to the look’s ’60s roots, including fluttery curtain bangs, sheer black tights, and charming loafers.
Attending the Alice + Olivia fashion show during New York Fashion Week in February 2023, Rogers pulled inspiration from another era. Her brown leather jacket, boho cami top, and Farrah Fawcett-coded waves hearkened back to the 1970s but didn’t read as costumey. It undoubtedly helped that Rogers went easy on the hairspray and updated the look with straight-leg jeans rather than flares.
Overall, Rogers shows a delightful range that goes far beyond Beth Dutton’s staples. And as it happens, she isn’t the only show alum with a penchant for both the quirky and the couture. With a similarly eclectic interest in fashion, co-star Jen Landon, who plays Teeter on “Yellowstone,” is also gorgeous in real life.
