What Lauren Boebert could have done instead
Although the dress that Lauren Boebert chose to wear to the NRCC President’s Dinner isn’t bad, per se, despite it looking like a relic from the wrong side of Y2K fashion trends, it’s where she wore it that’s the problem. As mentioned, it was clearly a black tie event, making Boebert’s look not only inappropriate, but immature, too — and at 38, she’s no longer a kid and should know how to dress for such an event.
Had Boebert wanted to dress like the other attendees, meaning to wear something fitting for a presidential dinner, the first step would have been to bring that hemline way down. Granted, Boebert has great legs, but that’s not a good enough reason to dress so casually for such an evening. Another thing she should have taken into consideration is pattern. Sure, polka dots are always fun, especially on dresses, but they’re mostly meant to be worn to low-key events like, for example, an afternoon garden party. Boebert also chose to opt for the unflattering hair style we’ve begged her to ditch: the tragic attempt at making wavy hair work for her. Not only was Boebert unsuccessful at this look, as always, but it’s also a very informal hairstyle for the dinner.
It might be safe to assume that Boebert is and will always be a lost cause when tasked with making fashion and hair choices — unless she heeds our advice.
