Her leather-look top and leggings ensemble missed the mark
In 2014, Ainsley Earhardt wore another outfit that strayed from her usual classy TV style. The star appeared at the “Fox & Friends”‘ All-American Concert Series in a black leather long-sleeve top paired with gray skinny pants, and black slingback ankle boots. We understand why the journalist reached for the garments, as open-toe booties were a particularly huge trend and so was leather (or faux leather/pleather) clothing. But, despite her demonstrating the sandwich method of dressing to upgrade her outfit, the garments looked cheaply made (the hem of her top in particular seemed off) and her odd choice in bottoms let the look down.
The top would have been more flattering as a long-sleeve mini dress. The bottoms, which appeared to be leggings or jeggings, were too casual and diluted the ensemble’s edginess. That made her ‘fit look mismatched.
The extra material dangling from her white top created an odd silhouette
Ainsley Earhardt wore an unflattering top in 2019 that even her co-workers didn’t seem sold on. While walking the red carpet for the Fox News’ Patriot Awards, Earhardt wore a sleeveless, turtleneck top by Tibi with shiny and skinny black pants and pumps. But the extra piece of material dangling from the left side of her top made this ensemble flop. Though it made what could have been a boring outfit more interesting, it was too heavy. It dragged the garment down on one side and ruined what would otherwise have been a clean, flattering silhouette. In one photo Earhardt posted to Instagram, Fox News’ meteorologist Janice Dean playfully pulled the dangling material to show it stretched across three bodies, which could have been hazardous for the star.
The top and pants combo also made Earhardt appear less dressy than her co-stars. While posing alongside her colleagues on the red carpet, her male counterparts wore suits. Meanwhile, Jillian Mele posed in a strapless, all-black top and sequin pants combo, which felt more appropriate for such a big red carpet event.
Her eye-boggling polka dot dress was too long and busy
Ainsley Earhardt attended the South Carolina Foundation for Educational Leadership gala in 2022 and was bestowed the Distinguished South Carolina Public School Graduate award. But while the night was surely one to remember, her outfit was better forgotten.
She wore a long-sleeve green and white polka-dot dress that looked more like an optical illusion than an elegant event gown. It had ruching sections down the front, which broke up the pattern and made it look squashed and stretched in places. Although the light pink flowers Earhardt had pinned to the left side of her chest were a wholesome addition, the accessory only made the dress look busier.
Equally, though there’s nothing wrong with dressing more conservatively, the garment needed better tailoring so it didn’t swamp Earhardt’s frame. In the photo, the gown appears to be dragging along the floor and totally covering her feet. It also could have benefit from a slightly lower neckline to balance the heavy bottom and keep it from looking too frumpy.
Ainsley Earhardt’s zebra-print shorts and heels didn’t work on the golf course
During a 2010 trip to the golf course, Ainsley Earhardt took a sporty fashion risk that didn’t pay off. Though many golfers have fun with bold colors and prints (the two friends she posed with confirmed that), she took things to a whole new level by pairing a plain, V-neck, white T-Shirt with bold and slightly baggy zebra-print shorts. She also appeared to be wearing embellished heels, despite being on grass, which we can’t imagine made hitting balls or walking around the course particularly easy.
Though we appreciated the TV personality’s attempt to have fun and do something different, her bottom half looked like it was going to a completely separate event than her top. The look could have been upgraded and tied together better if she’d simply swapped her glam heels for more practical, white sneakers.
