Butter yellow is the color to watch
Kamala Harris is no stranger to playing with color. The former Vice President took People on a tour of her version of the Vice President’s Residence in 2023, which included swapping the forest green walls in her home’s library to pink. She told the publication, “I think this color, which is almost a fuchsia pink, is also a color of power and it’s also warm.”
When it comes to her outfits, Harris is not afraid to take risks and stand out. Throughout her time on the campaign trail, she wore her signature pantsuits in various colors. From navy blue, taupe and turquoise to beige, baby blue and violet. Emma McClendon, a professor in Fashion Studies at St. John’s University, told ESSENCE in November 2024 that the then-presidential candidate was “conscious” of how her clothes will play a part in “the conversation. She added, “she’s [been] engaging with it very intentionally, but also in this really playful mode.” Harris’ butter yellow dress shows her knack for being on trend while wearing garments that truly define the moment.
