Nicole Kidman’s Most Daring Looks of All Time

Nicole Kidman wore a dress that was held together by nothing but strings and small portions of fabric on the red carpet for the New York premiere of drama miniseries “Expats” in January 2024. The black Atelier Versace gown was completely backless and cut out along Kidman’s ribcage. It fastened briefly on her left side, before liberating itself into a thigh-high slit. The inside lining was a delicate, mint green, offering a nice jolt of color. The exposed back, the low neckline, and the leggy extravaganza made this red carpet ensemble one of Kidman’s most vivacious looks in a while. 

Dresses don’t need to reveal loads of skin to be steamy. Nicole Kidman’s red dress was a shocking masterpiece at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London in November 2024. Her skin-tight Balenciaga turtleneck dress was provocative, while still covering her entire body from head to toe. 

Evocative of lingerie, the back of the dress featured full-length corset lacing. The excess red ribbon, which was there in abundance, dangled from Kidman’s neck and she held it in her hand like a leash. Of course, the hue of the dress added to its seductive power. The bright red dress was bold, and Kidman went monochromatic, with perfectly matching boots. 

Nicole Kidman knows that her back is one of her best features, and she isn’t afraid to show it off. At the 2025 Golden Globes, Kidman wore a silver Balenciaga gown that was completely backless, all the way down to the small of her back. The dress also featured a one-shoulder neckline, so it was a wonder that the top stayed up. 

However, on closer inspection, the back was actually held together by a sheer panel of fabric. Nonetheless, the optical illusion of skin showing made Kidman’s glittery gown very seductive. She added drama with a voluminous, high ponytail, and the whole look worked on so many levels. 

On first glance, it looked like Nicole Kidman wasn’t wearing anything at all at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s “A Family Affair” in June 2024. Kidman’s stunning, floor-length, strapless dress by Gucci was almost an exact match for her skin tone, so it gave the illusion that she was in the buff. The simplicity of the dress was jazzed up thanks to a thigh-high slit at the front. Kidman broke up the nude tones of her outfit by wearing a brown choker necklace and wore her hair pulled back. It was simple, elegant, and hot all at once. 

Nicole Kidman took a break from backless dresses by wearing a different, but equally spicy, getup to the premiere of Netflix’s “The Perfect Couple” in September 2024. The semi-sheer, floor-length custom Ferragamo dress was made of chainmail, and glimmered as it clung to Kidman. What made the dress so bold was its deep, plunging neckline that dipped almost to Kidman’s navel. To play with menswear, Kidman wore and then later carried a black, tuxedo jacket; it created a gorgeous contrast with the very feminine silhouette of her sleek gown.

At the July 2023 London premiere of the Paramount+ spy series “Special Ops: Lioness,” Nicole Kidman stunned in a perfectly on-trend, striking black cut-out dress that featured a long sash draped over her shoulder. The halterneck Saint Laurent dress cinched at her throat with a black flower, and wrapped across her chest with strategically placed panels of fabric, while leaving Kidman’s torso exposed, showing off her killer abs. Kidman amped up the drama of the sleeveless gown by wearing sheer opera gloves, which managed to make the outfit even more seductive. The final effect was dramatic and sultry.
