What not to wear at a wedding and what to wear instead
Many people have known for years now that there are certain dos and don’ts when it comes to guest decorum at weddings, with a major one being: it’s not okay to propose at another person’s wedding. These unspoken guest rules also go for the attire. So, if you do not want to cause any drama, try not to wear white to a wedding, or in Sydney Sweeney’s case, you should also avoid white adjacent colors as well, and dresses that are too revealing.
So, make sure you have paid close attention to the dress code the married-couple-to-be has set. A lot of the time, the dress code is included on RSVPs or save the dates. Some of the most recurring attire requests are black or white-tie, cocktail, casual, tropical/destination, themed and semi-formal. You can easily Google each style to find examples of what is appropriate.
Once you know what the dress code is, the next step is finding the right outfit. The Knot, an online wedding-planning platform, suggested considering the season, location and time of day, along with cultural etiquette. The platform added that you should make sure to add accessories to your outfit as they “have the power to completely enhance your look.”
