5 Ariana Grande Outfits That Missed the Mark

Ariana Grande’s cage dress looked like a sea creature

Ariana Grande took a break from the pastel colors she’s been wearing lately and opted for a light-beige-colored Dior dress for the 2025 Critics Choice Awards. The couture gown featured a short, structured cage skirt with strands of straw-like material that hung down the singer’s legs. While the concept was pretty cool, the dress made Grande resemble a jellyfish, which is one sea creature many people probably don’t want to channel. Overall, this was one of the worst Ariana Grande outfits that scream “Glinda” from “Wicked.”

Ariana Grande’s Golden Globes gown was shapeless

We get that Ariana Grande is in her Aubrey Hepburn era, but her shapeless dress at the 2025 Golden Globes was just unflattering. The buttercream-yellow vintage Hubert de Givenchy gown featured a bejeweled chest, and the silk bodice hung down in a column silhouette. Grande wore the frock as a nod to her “Wicked” character, Glinda, as the golden color was supposed to mimic the yellow brick road. However, we wish the waist had been dropped a few inches to give the dress a more modern feel.

Ariana Grande’s basic black dress was uninspired

It’s rare to see Ariana Grande in all black, so when she wore an all-black ensemble to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in December 2024, it was disappointing. The fuzzy dress with an off-the-shoulder feature had no embellishments and hung down in a shapeless manner at Grande’s feet. If only she had found some casual ways to style her little black dress, the “Everyday” singer cold have given her look some life.

Ariana Grande needed a good tailor for her floral dress

At first glance, Ariana Grande’s floral dress at the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2” premiere in 2012 looked pretty, even though it looked like a repurposed bridesmaid dress. However, upon further inspection of the floor-length gown, we gasped at how much material pooled at Grande’s feet. The hem needed to be taken up at least 5 inches for the dress to be wearable. We only hope the former Nickelodeon star didn’t trip while posing for the cameras.

Ariana Grande’s tutu dress was too-too tacky for words

Pre-stylist Ariana Grande had to find her fashion footing before adopting her signature look, which was evident in her 2012 ‘fit. There’s so much wrong with this outfit that we don’t know where to start. From the blush pink satin bodice to the poufy, feathered skirt, this dress looked like it came out of a Limited Too catalog. Hopefully, Grande didn’t archive this ‘fit, as we don’t ever see it being recycled as vintage.
