Demi Moore
Hot off her award season winning streak, Demi Moore is still slaying. While there’s no denying that Moore’s stunning style transformation since her divorce from Ashton Kutcher has been a masterclass in how you move forward with grace and gumption, it’s during these last few months of 2025 that we’ve been reminded why “The Substance” star was once the highest paid actress in the 1990s: She’s equally at home on the red carpet as she is on the silver screen. For the Met Gala, Moore proved she’s still got that star power in a life-size, striped tie dress by Thom Browne and kept her jewelry to a minimum so as to not take away from Browne’s work of art.
Diana Ross
Diana Ross has been making entrances like no one else for decades and she did it again at the 2025 Met Gala. While she hadn’t attended the event in the last 22 years, she certainly made up for lost time. Wearing a dress that she, her son Evan Ross, and designer Ugo Mozie (of Eleven Sixteen) created together, Ross waltzed into the Met with an 18-foot-long train that, if you were lucky to get close enough to see, included the names of her children and grandchildren embroidered into the fabric. Ross’ hat choice was giving some major feathery chandelier vibes, to top off the entire look.
Whoopi Goldberg
When Whoopi Goldberg, one of the few celebs who confront aging with confidence, arrived at the Met Gala, it was obvious from the first glance that she, like many others that night, was wearing Thom Browne. The full-length tuxedo dress included a white overcoat, as well as a classic top hat, and black and white wingtip shoes. Goldberg, age 69, looked absolutely ravishing in the look, with many on X praising her for going all out with the theme.
It apparently took almost 8,000 hours to create the entire ensemble. “For me, everything begins and ends with tailoring,” Browne told Vogue about the Goldberg’s outfit. “I like to play with and reinterpret classic codes of black-tie dressing — and to reintroduce these traditional codes to people in ways they’ve never seen before.”
When The Hollywood Reporter asked Goldberg how important it was for her to attend this particular Met Gala, considering the political environment in the U.S. right now, she said, “Let them try to get rid of us. We not going anywhere. We been here longer than most anybody. We not going.” Hell yeah, Whoopi!
Nicole Kidman
As much as Nicole Kidman looked stunning in her black Balenciaga dress, it was her hair that really stunned everyone. Known for her long, blond locks, the 57-year-old actor arrived with a slicked back pixie and there’s only one word for it: wow. However, the question here is: Was it real? Sure, short hair is really hot for 2025, but we also know Kidman prefers wigs to help her get into character. Whatever the truth happens to be, you could tell Kidman was feeling just as hot and confident as she looked.
Madonna
Although her last Met Gala appearances was for 2018’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & the Catholic Imagination,” Madonna returned in 2025 to remind everyone else how it’s done. Not only did the 66-year-old superstar nail the theme in her custom cream-colored satin suit by Haider Ackermann for Tom Ford, but she strolled the entrance to the gala smoking a cigar like the icon she is. We may live in a culture that doesn’t want female celebrities to age, but as Madonna has always proven, some things — or in this case, some people — get so much better with time.
Pamela Anderson
Nicole Kidman wasn’t the only celeb over 40 to showcase a drastic new haircut last night — Pamela Anderson, too, decided shorter is better. Although Anderson looked like royalty in her dress by Tory Burch, it sort of missed the mark when it came to the theme. Which, of course, isn’t the end of the world because the best part of Anderson’s look was that she opted to lean into one of the 2025 bangs trends — edgy micro bangs — with a classic bob and nailed it.
Tracee Ellis Ross
While it was her mom, Diana, who stole the show from pretty much everyone, Tracee Ellis Ross was clearly having a blast in her Marc Jacobs suit. Against of sea of mostly black and white outfits from younger stars, the 52-year-old Ellis Ross decided shades of pinks and reds was the way to go and she really pulled it off. Ellis Ross, who’s been vocal about being childfree by choice, pulled the whole look together with the perfect shade of red lipstick — a makeup choice she’s not only become known for, but has mastered.
Angela Bassett
In news that’s likely to shock you to your core, this was Angela Bassett’s first Met Gala — and she killed it. As the 66-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter, her blue velvet suit and cape were inspired by the La Sape tribe of the Congo. Bassett completed her look with a hat, cane, and black heels. Considering what Bassett brought to event, in both style and attitude, she better be on the guest list for next year, too.
Halle Berry
When she’s not fighting against menopause misconceptions, Halle Berry is just rolling on into the 2025 Met Gala looking like she’s somewhere between summoning the energy of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and a real-life goddess. Not only was the LaQuan Smith dress risqué in all the right places, the attitude that Berry was serving with it was undeniable. Whoever decided women should stay 23 forever, have clearly never seen Berry who, at 58, makes getting older look like an art.
Zoe Saldaña
Although at just 46 Zoe Saldaña is certainly not old, but because we made the cutoff age 45 and above for this piece, it would have been a major mistake to not include her on this list. Not only because this dress by Thom Browne is absolute perfection, but because Saldaña is owning the look so hard with the exaggerated hips, mid-thigh-high slit in the front, and just enough of a train to add a splash of femininity to this bold, mostly androgynous outfit. Saldaña is also rocking this summer’s trendiest haircut, Leslie Bibb’s bob, but with bangs, adding to this overall ideal choice for the night.
Anna Wintour
Although Anna Wintour rarely impresses at the Met Gala, usually preferring to play it cool behind her sunglasses while the celebrities shine in the spotlight, we’d be remiss not to mention the queen behind this whole event. Wintour isn’t just proof that style gets better with age, but she’s a lesson in how to stay chic into your 60s and beyond: quality over quantity and tailoring is everything.
