But bright golds and silvers are still incredibly eye-catching, and largely inappropriate at a wedding where the focus should be on the couple. The enormous gold ball gown that Jenner wore to friend Hailey Bieber’s wedding was bound to compete with the bride’s look, making it an incredibly disrespectful choice. At friend Lauren Perez’s birthday, bridesmaid Kendall Jenner appeared in an unconventional reception dress: a skin-baring cutout M\u00f4not gown. Though the piece looked fabulous on Jenner, it was a racy choice for a wedding and inevitably drew focus away from Perez. Jenner defended the choice to online critics, insisting she got permission from the bride before committing to the look. But even getting the bride’s blessing doesn’t mean it’s polite to make yourself the center of attention. “I mean if you have to bother the bride and ask if something is appropriate to wear, it probably means it’s not,” wrote one Reddit commenter. “They’re so oblivious.”<\/p>\n
