If you’re looking for a classic novel to select for your next book club pick, Riley Keough has plenty of great recommendations. The actor highlighted some of her favorites in a Lit Check video made with Reese’s Book Club, ranking “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott and “Anne of Green Gables” by L.M. Montgomery as childhood favorites. “I just loved [‘Anne of Green Gables’] when I was a little girl,” Keough said. “I just was, like, obsessed with [Anne] and just wanted to live her life.”<\/p>\n

The celeb also has an affinity for epic and fantastical tales, mentioning the “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien in her interview with Oprah Daily. The 1937-published novel centers around Bilbo Baggins and serves as an early introduction to many of the beloved characters from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. “My dad used to read ‘The Hobbit’ to me and my brother at bedtime,” she said. “It’s the first real memory I have with an adult book.”<\/p>\n

This love for fantasy translates into the star’s preference for surrealism, with Keough noting Japanese classic “Kafka on the Shore” by Haruki Murakami as a favorite.
