Chapman. Naturally, she looked stunning, but some fans questioned Sweeney’s dress selection. However, one X user felt that the question may be moot, writing, “The bride wouldn’t have said no to a celebrity.” Look at it this way: Friendly or not, would you have the guts to veto an A-lister’s ensemble for your wedding? If a legion of netizens can recognize the gown’s inappropriate vibes, a proven fashionista should know to avoid such an obvious sartorial controversy.<\/p>\n

Following her romantic split from fianc\u00e9 Jonathan Davino, Sweeney boldly chose to attend CinemaCon 2025 in literal bridal separates from Wiederhoeft \u2014 specifically, the $4,182 Julie Corset and its matching $2,135 Julie Skirt, both in silver satin. And we can’t help but notice a resonance between the two ‘fits, from their structural boning to their frosty undertones. With such wedding looks on her recent style radar, Sweeney should have clocked that her sweetheart gown for Leslie Powell’s nuptials was tiptoeing into bridal territory.<\/p>\n

Fortunately \u2014 and despite all the hullabaloo online \u2014 Sweeney’s dress hasn’t seemed to cause any drama between her and the Powell family. “We love Sydney,” Cyndy Powell, Glen and Leslie’s mother, told the\u00a0Daily Mail. “She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.” There’s been no outcry from Leslie Powell, either. As one user wrote on X, “The bride doesn’t seem to give a f*** about the dress color, but everyone on Twitter does.”<\/p>\n

One photo even hints that the pale-blue shade of Sweeney’s gown may have fit the event’s dress code. A group shot on Instagram shows several other guests in icy gowns, putting Sweeney’s choice into context. With all of this in mind, it may be time to forgive and forget the actor’s potential breach of wedding-day etiquette. Besides, this is just one of many times that celebs wore potentially inappropriate outfits to other people’s weddings,\u00a0and Sweeney isn’t even close to being the worst offender.<\/p>\n
