For President Donald Trump’s 2025 Inauguration ceremony, Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos were featured front and center. Sanchez opted for a white suit by Alexander McQueen with a white bustier underneath featuring sheer lace and corset boning. The cleavage-focused outfit was deemed distracting by many, considering the political gravitas of the day. In fact,\u00a0Mark Zuckerberg of Meta was even caught on camera sneaking a peek, so the whole thing felt pretty awkward. It’s safe to say that Sanchez stole the show, and maybe not in the best way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Sanchez got panned online for such an inappropriate outfit, she was apparently nonplussed by all of the criticism. After the event and its subsequent tumult, a source told Page Six:\u00a0“Lauren just doesn’t give a s\u2013t. She does what she wants.” Sanchez even liked several posts on Instagram that roasted her Inauguration day outfit choice, so she’s clearly not too hurt by all the feedback.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

It seems like anything that Lauren Sanchez wears to the White House gets her in hot water. For a White House State Dinner to honor Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in April 2024, Sanchez arrived in a red gown that sizzled in the otherwise conservative setting. Sanchez’s merlot-toned dress featured an off-the-shoulder lace top with a bustier-style front, complete with sheer lace paneling. The form-fitting, plunging gown was bedazzling, no doubt, but perhaps a little too sultry for a state dinner, considering the fact that the dress was lingerie-inspired.<\/p>\n

People got into heated conversations online about the appropriateness of Sanchez’s dress for the occasion. On Instagram, People Magazine asked if Sanchez broke White House protocol by wearing the burgundy gown, and many felt like she had.\u00a0“What and where is this dress appropriate for? Las Vegas?” one person commented.\u00a0“There is a place and time for that dress<\/span>,”\u00a0another wrote, implying that this wasn’t it.\u00a0“Not appropriate for a state dinner, period!!”\u00a0a third added firmly. Sanchez’s gown was created by the brand, and has quickly become one of her most notable looks. The dress was totally sheer, offering a glimpse of her underwear, while the bustier-style top featured a plunging neckline. Sanchez styled the outfit with black heels and a black jacket thrown over her shoulders. Bezos for his part wore all black, and the two finished things off with sunglasses at night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the 2024\u00a0Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women gala, Lauren Sanchez arrived wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown that was sheer in parts and featured nude panelling in others, covered by an overlay of navy blue flowers. It had an off-the-shoulder neckline, featuring a low plunge, and finished off with a long train. While Sanchez looked stunning, complete with a glamorous updo and statement earrings,\u00a0the lace and nude panelled gown offered the illusion of barely-there covering.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What made Sanchez’s choice in red carpet attire so uncomfortable was the gravitas of the occasion and the organization’s mission. The\u00a0Caring for Women organization centers its mission around ending gender-based violence, a very worthy cause, and while Sanchez’ presence there offered support, her seductive gown seemed to distract from such a solemn and serious cause. The fit didn’t match the theme of the evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

In a video posted to Instagram in December 2024, Sanchez shared a throwback memory of when she was in the book store Godmothers in Montecito, California, talking about her book and other great kids’ books in the shop. Sanchez wore burgundy pants with a burgundy turtleneck that featured sheer fabric on the upper portion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pants and turtleneck were fine, but the sheer paneling made some potential readers uncomfortable, considering it was a bookstore for kids and Sanchez was promoting her own book for children. Someone made mention of this in the comments section. “I really love you, but that shirt is not appropriate for a kids bookstore or promoting a kids book,”\u00a0they began,\u00a0“just my opinion. I have a son and I don’t know if I’d feel comfortable having him meet you with that shirt.”\u00a0Another person wrote, “The shirt though not a good look for a children’s book store<\/span><\/span>.”\u00a0Others defended Sanchez, and said that it was great that she was promoting reading for kids. But still, any drama could have been avoided with a different top.<\/p>\n
