As a Texas native herself, actor Paulina Ch\u00e1vez shares some common ground with her “Landman” character, Ariana. But compared to Ariana’s wardrobe \u2014 which is very much the look of a young mother, with her fundamental camisoles and minimal accessorizing \u2014 Ch\u00e1vez’s everyday style is a little more whimsical. For instance, a January 2024 photo shared on Instagram shows Ch\u00e1vez lounging riverside in a dreamy, vacation-worthy ensemble of striped drawstring pants; a sunny, yellow crop top; and an oh-so-fresh white button-up. The post has no caption but does contain a location tag of Italy \u2014 and, fair enough, that breezy look would fit in anywhere from the Gulf Coast to the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n

In another Instagram post, Ch\u00e1vez shows off a pink jumpsuit that’s inspiring us to bring back Barbiecore. The most impressive part is that it’s not juvenile and feminine \u2014 rather, Ch\u00e1vez elevates the playful one-piece with snatched makeup, dangling earrings, and a black clutch. Where Ariana keeps things basic, Ch\u00e1vez seems to enjoy injecting a little creativity into her daily styling.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Even further away from Ariana’s salt-of-the-earth aesthetic, Paulina Ch\u00e1vez seemingly loves an opportunity to dress up in cutting-edge styles. Attending the 2023 premiere of “The Long Game” at the South by Southwest film festival, Ch\u00e1vez showed she could work a red carpet with the best of them \u2014 and while she may be a relative newcomer, she doesn’t play it safe. Her SXSW ensemble was a vision in lime, exciting and electric, from her broad-brimmed hat and curve-hugging corset to her perfectly tailored cigarette pants. We’ll just go ahead and say it: Ch\u00e1vez was ahead of her time, showing us how to perfectly style the summery “brat green” that replaced Barbie pink before Charli XCX had even made it a thing.<\/p>\n

Ch\u00e1vez stunned again at the Los Angeles premiere of “Landman” in November 2024, donning a fashion-forward dress constructed of bold, metallic ruffles. The frock experimented with proportion without going totally over the top, creating a lot of visual intrigue. Along with its asymmetrical hem and the tasteful cutouts along her sides, Ch\u00e1vez nailed a look that was daring but didn’t fall into the trap of gaudiness. Paulina Ch\u00e1vez is a showstopper in avant-garde fashion, but she’s also proven that she can put her own spin on the classics. For example, we’re big fans of the vintage black Loris Azzaro gown she wore to the Hispanic Heritage Awards in September 2024. Ch\u00e1vez’s moody, Old-Hollywood styling complemented the gown’s luxurious beading, from her dark curls to her lace-trimmed elbow gloves. At the same time, her scooped, structural bust and bright-red manicure kept things fresh and edgy instead of fully referential. In short, it was both classic and interesting. Our only critique?\u00a0It would have been nice for her nails and lips to match for a little extra cohesion.<\/p>\n
